What is Church Membership?
Here at North Side, we are a covenant people. We take the idea of church membership very seriously and we hope you do, too. Church members commit to joining a spiritual family who provides encouragement and support. They are called to a higher degree of responsibility, service, and sacrifice. Our pastors and ministry leaders are committed to members through care, counsel, prayer, and teaching.
Four Reasons to be a covenant member:
Christ is committed to the church. “…Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her.” (Ephesians 5:25 ESV)
In an age of individualism, committing to something like a church speaks to our need for one another and it tells the world that we were made for community.
We believe there is great value in having a certain group of people speaking truth and counsel into your life. Within the confines of church membership, we know who we belong to and who we can trust.
It produces spiritual growth. The Bible gives major emphasis for the need of Christians to be accountable to each other for spiritual growth. You cannot be accountable when you’re not committed to a specific church family.
